Hanna Park and Bike Trail Overview

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, aka Hanna Park, is a 450-acre gem in Jacksonville, Florida. The trail is named after a female ecologist way ahead of her time in preserving Florida’s natural landscapes and ecosystems. Located between Atlantic Beach and historic Mayport Village, this park offers a mix of natural beauty and recreation.

Once Manhattan Beach, the first African American beach resort in Florida, Hanna Park has a rich history that adds to its charm. The park is a recreational hub and a piece of Florida’s cultural heritage, from historic beach community to outdoor oasis. Today it’s a favorite destination for outdoor enthusiasts with hiking, biking, fishing and surfing.

For visitors looking to relax, the park has shaded picnic areas, playgrounds for little ones and an on-site splash pad to cool off in the Florida heat. Whether you’re a history buff or adventure seeker, Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park has something for everyone.

Hanna Park Mountain Biking

The Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park Mountain Bike Trails are for novices and intermediate riders looking for a workout.

Hope you’re ready for some turbulence. Densely forested trails, sharp turns and lots of roots will keep you on your toes. The park has sandy sections, wooden ramps and tight singletrack through coastal hammocks. Several short wooden bridges to pay attention to or you’ll end up in the water and sharp turns to keep you on your guard.

The trail has several inclines and drops to keep you interested throughout the ride. Marked trails range from beginner loops to more advanced trails with steep climbs and technical descents so it’s a great spot for all skill levels of mountain bikers. Looking for a casual ride or a good workout, Hanna Park delivers.

I thought about giving it one star

February 12, 2025

Hanna Park indicates it has advanced trails but none that I rode. Make sure you have a full-suspension bike for this park, it has a lot of rooty terrain.
